STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern men's tennis dominated The Citadel on Saturday afternoon, 7-0. The Eagles finish regular season play with a 5-17 overall record and a 4-5 SoCon record.
Prior to the match, seniors Oliver Webb and Marco Osorio were recognized for their contributions to the program.
The Eagles won all three doubles matches and notched the doubles point for the advantage heading into singles play.
Albert Codina Sala grabbed the first singles win in the 5th spot by defeating Oliver Dedding, 6-1, 6-1. Christian Kerrigan overcame Justin Wycoff 6-0, 6-2 in the 6th singles position. At No. 4 singles, Nico DeGroof took down Jackdon Pride, 6-3, 6-4, clinching the match. Kyle Hoffman played a nail-biter against Peter Bleach and won, 6-3, 7-5. The seniors were left finishing out their last matches at the Wallis Tennis Center, both ending in victories for the Eagles. Oliver Webb defeated Elliott Sperr, 2-6, 6-4, 7-5, and Marco Osorio beat Dillon Berkabile, 6-2, 1-6, 7-5.
The Eagles head to the Southern Conference Championship on April 16th-19th in Chattanooga, TN.
