Inclement Weather Disrupts Saturday Track Schedule

Eagles dominate 100m Dash on Second Day

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Inclement weather threw the schedule for the second day of the UNF Spring Break Invitational into a kilter, but Georgia Southern still came out with excellent finishes in the finals of the 100m Dash. Georgia Southern took three of the top four places in the 100m with senior Aarian Tipton winning the event with a 12.22 time. Jordan Fordham took second and Alyssa Felton was fourth as the Eagles dominated the event. The Eagles also competed in the 4X100m Relay.

"We haven't had a lot of opportunity to run our top teams in the relays, but it was good to get back into the finals of the short sprints," said Head Coach Marlo Mincey. "Next weekend at the Florida Relays, all our relay teams will have a chance to compete."

The Eagles travel back to Florida for the third straight week, this time to Gainesville and the James G. Pressly Stadium for the Florida Relays. Junior Jasmin Walker (Long Jump), Dana Edwards (400m Hurdles) and Sherril McFarlane (800m) will compete in the invitational events with those events beginning the afternoon of Friday, April 4th.
