STATESBORO, Ga.- Georgia Southern men's tennis was defeated yesterday by Mercer, 4-3, at the Wallis Tennis Center. The Eagles' record drops to 3-12 overall.

The match opened strongly with some highly competitive doubles play. Kyle Hoffman and Nico DeGroof battled Oliver Snaider and Austin Emmet but were defeated 8-7. Oliver Webb and Christian Kerrigan played an unfinished game (7-7) against brothers Arnav and Arsav Mohanty. Marco Osorio and Albert Codina Sala dropped to Anderson Scarpa and Joao Pagan, 8-6.

In singles play, Oliver Webb was defeated by Oliver Snaider in the No. 1 singles spot, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. At No. 2, Kyle Hoffman fell to Arnav Mohanty, 6-1, 6-2. Albert Codina Sala earned a point for the Eagles by defeating Anderson Scarpa, 4-6, 6-0, 2-0. Nico DeGroof defeated Joao Pagan 4-6, 6-4, 2-0. Christian Kerrigan dropped to Austin Emmet, 7-5, 6-2.

The Eagles hit the courts on Sunday, March 23rd, at the Wallis Tennis Center against SoCon opponent Appalachian State.
