Georgia Southern returns to action with a home game against Kennesaw State in Hanner Fieldhouse.
The contest is the front end of a doubleheader with the Georgia Southern men's team, which will take on Johnson University after.
Its the 42nd season of women's basketball at Georgia Southern.
The Eagles return eight letterwinners and three starters from last season's squad. Three of the top-5 scorers and rebounders are back for Georgia Southern.
Senior Anna Claire Knight was named to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team in the coaches poll, and the Eagles were picked to finish 10th.
Knight and junior Briana Jones were named Preseason All-Sun Belt by College Sports Madness.
Knight has 1,033 career points, 427 rebounds and 141 assists. No player in program history has recorded over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 200 assists for their career.
Georgia Southern opened its home schedule with a 78-65 victory over Jacksonville Tuesday evening.
Kennesaw State enters the game with a 2-1 record and is coming off a 77-48 setback to Georgia Tech Wednesday night.
The Owls return six letterwinners and four starters from last season.
The Owls were picked seventh in the Atlantic Sun Preseason Coaches and Media Polls.
Kristina Wells, who is averaging 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds a game, was named Preseason All-ASun.
Jasmine McAllister averages 14 points and 11 rebounds a contest and recorded 13 rebounds against the Yellow Jackets.
The game is the third in a season-long six-game road trip for Kennesaw State.

Series History

The Eagles and Owls have met just three times on the hardwood with Kennesaw State owning a 2-1 edge.
The Owls earned a 53-39 victory in the last meeting, back in 2012 in the KSU Convocation Center.
Ashley Holliday scored 14 points, including 12 in the second half, to lead Kennesaw State.
Anna Claire Knight led Georgia Southern with 14 points, and Aishya Wofford tallied four points and a team-high eight rebounds.
The Eagles led 20-12 with time winding down in the first half, but Chantel Kennedy got an offensive rebound for the Owls, and Holliday scored a runner as the buzzer sounded. That bucket ignited a 13-0 run for KSU as Holliday hit three consecutive 3-pointers, and the Owls opened a 25-20 lead early in the second period.
The Eagles posted an 80-67 win in Hanner Fieldhouse in the first meeting of the series in 2009.
J'Lisia Ogburn collected 20 points and eight rebounds to lead the Eagles, while Carolyn Whitney scored 17.
Gia Lockett scored 19 points to lead KSU.
GSU drilled eight of 19 3-pointers in the contest and made 20-of-24 free throws.
