Last Season: The Georgia Southern men's tennis team finished the 2012-13 season with an 11-9, 6-4 record. The Eagles won three of their last five matches, posting wins over Elon, Samford, and the Citadel. Rayane Djouad led the team with a dual-match record of 14-3, and finishing 9-1 in SoCon play. In doubles play, Georgia Southern's Rayane Djouad and Marco Osorio led the Eagles with a 7-5, 2-4 record.
Student-Athlete Spotlight: Rayane Djouad
Rayane Djouad (14-3, 9-1), a sophomore from Rilleux-la-Pape, France, led the Eagles at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships in Athens, GA last weekend, as well as defeating College of Charleston's Zach Lewis 6-3, 6-4. In doubles play, he has been partnered with Marco Osorio and Oliver Webb. In 2013, Djouad was named SoCon Freshman of the Year, Second Team All-SoCon, and SoCon All-Freshman Team.
