Golf in 10th after Two Rounds at Gary Koch Invitational

TAMPA, Fla. – Georgia Southern shaved six strokes off its first-round total to move up to 10th in the team standings after two rounds at the Gary Koch Invitational Monday at Old Memorial Golf Course.
The Eagles (+16) shot a 293 in the second round after firing a 299 in their first 18 holes. Georgia Southern will tee off on hole 10 at 8:05 a.m. in tomorrow's final round.
Georgia Southern is one stroke ahead of South Florida (+17) and five strokes back of Jacksonville (+11). Florida State (-21) leads the tournament, and Georgia Tech (-20) is second. Auburn (-8) is third, followed by Florida (-3).
"We got off to a rough start in the first round and never really got any momentum going today," said Georgia Southern coach Larry Mays. "We have been a good final-round team this season and need a good one tomorrow."
Scott Wolfes (75-72) and Will Evans (72-75) each shot a 147 to lead the Eagles on the par-72 course. Hayden Anderson (76-73) shot a 149, and Henry Mabbett (77-73) fired a 150. Charlie Martin (76-76) posted a 152, and Caleb Morris (78-81), who is playing as an individual, finished with a 159.
