STATESBORO, Ga. – The Georgia Southern volleyball team will host an NCAA Championship Selection Show party Sunday, Dec. 1, beginning at 9 p.m. in Bishop Fieldhouse. The selection show airs at 9:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
The Eagles won the school's fourth Southern Conference Tournament title by defeating Samford 3-1 in Timmons Arena last Sunday and earned the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
Junior outside hitter Jamie DeRatt was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player while junior middle Kym Coley was named all-tournament for the second straight season and sophomore right side Katie Bange also earned all-tournament accolades.
It will be the Eagles' first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2010, when they lost 3-1 to Florida State in the first round, and fourth overall. The Eagles are still searching for the program's first NCAA Tournament win.
Georgia Southern has tied the school season record with 28 wins against five losses and has won 13 of its last 15 matches.
