
Big Weekend Ahead for Eagle Fans

STATESBORO, Ga. - A big weekend full of Georgia Southern Athletic events awaits Eagle fans this weekend. Georgia Southern will take to the basketball court for the first time as the men's team plays an exhibition game on Friday night. Football returns home to face Furman on Saturday at 1 p.m. and the baseball team will host a scrimmage at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Men's Basketball vs Thomas Night Hawks
Date: Friday, Nov. 1
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: Hanner Fieldhouse
The Mark Byington era begins on Friday night as Georgia Southern men's basketball takes to the court for the first time in an exhibition game against the Thomas Night Hawks at Hanner Fieldhouse. This is the Eagles lone exhibition game before hosting Columbia International in the season opener on Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Football vs Furman Paladins
Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Allen E. Paulson Stadium
Georgia Southern returns home to Allen E. Paulson Stadium to face rival Furman for the final time as a member of the Southern Conference. The Eagles are 4-0 at home this season and are looking to continue that perfect mark when they face the Paladins at 1 p.m. It is a #TrueBlue Out on Saturday and all fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game. Tickets are on sale now through the Georgia Southern Ticket Office and students can pick up tickets at the Cowart Building, Russell Union, basketball scrimmage and on the day of the game at the Cowart Building.
Baseball Scrimmage
Date: Saturday, Nov. 2
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: J.I. Clements Stadium
The Georgia Southern baseball team will be taking to the field for the final time in the fall and are hosting a scrimmage after the football game at 7 p.m. It will be a full game-day experience at Clements Stadium and pizza will be served to the first 200 fans. Come out after the football game and catch a glimpse of the 2014 baseball team as they participate in a seven-inning scrimmage. Admission is free and all fans are asked to enter through the Champions Room.
