STATESBORO, GA. – Georgia Southern Men's Soccer will honor its six seniors in a pregame ceremony before Saturday night's 7 p.m. match. The Eagles face Appalachian State to begin the second half of the league schedule. Saturday's match can be seen live on GS All-Access from GSEagles.com.
Georgia Southern is 4-8-0 on the season with a 0-3 mark in SoCon play. Of those eight losses, seven have been by a single goal.
The Eagles will look to snap a four-game skid against Appalachian State who improved to 3-3-6 on the season with a win on Tuesday night. The Mountaineers took down the first place Wofford Terriers on Tuesday to go to 1-2-1 in league play.
Senior
Witt Carlisle leads Georgia Southern with four goals this season. He also has two assists to buoy the "Boys in Blue."
Neal Bates has been phenomenal this season in goal, stopping 75 shots which ranks second nationally. He also carries a 1.39 goals against average into Saturday's contest. He has posted a pair of shutouts, most recently against UNC Asheville in a 1-0 win.
Next up for the Eagles is a non-conference match against Jacksonville before the final run of two league games to close the SoCon season on the road. Georgia Southern faces the Dolphins starting at 7 p.m. on Saturday night.
