Martin Tied for Fifth, Eagles in Eighth after Day Two at Mason Rudolph Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Georgia Southern golfer Charlie Martin is tied for fifth place at 2-under par after shooting a 72 on the second day of the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Legends Course Saturday.
The Eagles (+14) are in eighth place, two strokes behind Ole Miss and four back of fifth-place College of Charleston. Host Vanderbilt leads the tournament at 4-under par, and Oklahoma is second at 3-under.
"We came up a little short of having a great round today," said Georgia Southern coach Larry Mays. "Some untimely bogeys hurt the team score. We need four solid counting scores tomorrow to finish off the tournament."
Martin recorded two birdies and three bogeys on the front nine for a 36 and was even on the back nine to finish 1-over for the day. Scott Wolfes, who is tied for 16th, got hurt by a double bogey on hole eight and played the back nine at even par to finish the day 3-over.
Christian Humber, who is playing as an individual, teed off on hole 10 and played the back nine at 2-under. After playing the first three holes at 1-under, the junior struggled down the stretch, bogeying three of the last five holes to finish the day at even par. He is tied for 20th.
Hayden Anderson (right), who finished 1-over for the day, made par on every hole except the par-4 fourth. Caleb Morris finished with a 75, and Henry Mabbett shot a 77.
"Charlie continues to lead the team and is position for a good individual finish," said Mays. "Hayden bounced back with a nice round today. We are looking for the team to respond with our best round to date tomorrow and a good finish."
Action at the Mason Rudolph Championship finishes tomorrow as the Eagles tee off at 7:30 a.m.
