Georgia Southern's Evans to compete at Jones Cup Invite

Statesboro, Ga. – Sophomore Will Evans (McDonough, Ga.) will compete in the 2012 Jones Cup Invitational at the famed Ocean Forest Golf Club on Sea Island, Ga. this weekend Feb 3-5. The Jones Cup is one of the country’s most prestigious amateur events, bringing in top talent from the United States and abroad.

The 54-hole individual stroke-play tournament was first contested 2001, and annually draws some of the biggest names in amateur golf. Previous competitors include Bubba Watson (University of Georgia), Dustin Johnson (Coastal Carolina) and Luke Donald (England).

Evans is one of 90 confirmed contestants in the tournament. He tees off for the first round Friday, Feb 3 at 9:50 a.m.
