STATESBORO, Ga. – Georgia Southern Men’s and Women’s Soccer will host their first night games at Eagle Field this month after the successful installation of lights on the Eagles’ home turf.
“I think that lighting this facility puts Eagle Field on par with some of the best stadiums in the country,” said Men’s Soccer Head Coach Kevin Kennedy. “Now rather than being a soccer game at 4:00 on a Tuesday or a Saturday, it will be an event with a great atmosphere under the lights. The players here have really dreamed of having the opportunity to play under the lights in front of their peers and we’re excited to give them that opportunity.”
The first night game will be on Friday, October 12th, as the Eagle Men’s Soccer team hosts Elon at 7 p.m. Southern will host two more night games this season on Tuesday, October 16th, against UNCG and Tuesday, October 23rd, against Furman. All games start at 7 p.m.
GSU Women’s Soccer enters the lighted age on Friday, October 19th, against Furman before Davidson comes to town for the regular season finale on October 24th. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m. starts.
