Van Dyke Named SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Sophomore setter Kate Van Dyke has been named the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for the week October 27. Van Dyke was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week earlier for her performance over the weekend.
Van Dyke helped lead the Eagles to a 3-0 record on the road over the weekend. The Shawnee, Kan., native recorded 121 assists for an average of 11.0 assists per set, while also averaging 2.73 digs per set. The sophomore hit .526 in the three matches, tallying 12 kills. She posted two double-doubles at Western Carolina and Appalachian State.
This is the second Eagle to be recognized as student-athlete of the week as Moriah Bellissimo (Blackstone, Va.) was honored for the week of September 29.
Georgia Southern returns to the court welcoming Furman and Wofford to Hanner Fieldhouse.
