Oglethorpe Invitational Welcomes Eagles

STATESBORO, GA – The Georgia Southern men's golf program will be well represented this weekend as five current and five former Eagle golfers compete in the Oglethorpe Invitational in Savannah, Ga. The Oglethorpe Invitational, celebrating its 27th anniversary, is recognized as the premier amateur golf tournament in Savannah. For the tenth year, the tournament will be contested at the Wilmington Island Club, a par-72, 6,876 yard Donald Ross course, July 23-26.
Current Eagles Logan Blondell (Lakeland, Fla.), Matt Deal (Statesboro, Ga.), Spencer Fulford (Rocky Mount, N.C.), Joe Monte (Chantilly, Va.) and Ryan Zabroske (Alpahretta, Ga.) will reunite with former Eagles Jordan Johnstun and Ryan LeFevre in the tournament. In addition, former Eagles Tripp Kuhlke, Travis Mobley and Scott Weeks will compete in the tournament. In all, the Invitational hosts 117 participants who are eligible to earn World Amateur Ranking points based on final tournament results.
The first two days of competition will consist of 18-hole stroke play. Following the conclusion of the second round, the field will be trimmed down to the top 60 and ties, with the championship round taking place Sunday, July 26.
Mobley will represent Georgia Southern first teeing off at 7:39 a.m. from the first hole. Following Mobley will be Zabroske at 9:21 a.m., Blondell at 9:29 a.m., Fulford and Johnstun (9:55 a.m.), Weeks (10:54 a.m.), Kuhlke (11:03 a.m.), LeFevre (11:11 a.m.), Deal (11:54 a.m.) and Monte (12:11 p.m.).
