Women's Soccer Continues Three-Game Homestand

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women's soccer team (0-11-0, 0-4-0) continues its three-game homestand Thursday with a 4 p.m. match against the Citadel (4-8-0, 1-3-0).
The Eagles are coming off a tough 1-0 loss to Elon Friday before dropping Sunday's match to UNC Greensboro. Chelsea Kephart (Cumming, Ga.) paced GS with three shots in the match against the Phoenix.
Sara Oland (Evans, Ga.) continues to lead the Georgia Southern offensive attack with 12 shots.
The Eagles hold a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series, winning seven straight matches to open the series.
The Bulldogs went winless on the weekend, dropping matches to Furman and Wofford. The Citadel opened conference play with a pair of one goal decisions. Samford bested the Bulldogs in the conference opener, but the Citadel found themselves on the winning side of a one goal match against Chattanooga.
Nicole Martinoli leads the Bulldog attack with six goals and 25 shots. Martinoli also paces the team in shots on goal (14) and game-winning goals (2).
The Eagles and the Bulldogs square off for the ninth time Thursday at Eagle Field inside of the Erk Russell Athletic Park at 4 p.m.
