Women's Soccer Wraps up the Regular Season with a Home Match against Davidson

STATESBORO, Ga. - The Georgia Southern women’s soccer team will play host to Davidson in the final regular season match Thursday at 4 p.m. at Eagle Field.
The Lady Eagles enter Thursday’s matchup with a 4-10-3 (2-7-1) record.
The Georgia Southern offense ranks sixth in goals scored, eighth in assists and sixth in points in the Southern Conference.
Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robins, Ga.) continues to lead the team in goals, assists and points. She continues to rank at the top of the SoCon, and is currently in first place in goals, second in points and 10th in assists.
The Lady Eagles defense ranks 10th in goals allowed and goals against average.
The Davidson Wildcats are coming off of a 1-0 loss to UNC Greensboro on October 26th and enter the match with a 9-5-3 (7-3-0) record.
The Wildcats' offense ranks second in goals, third in assists and third in points in the SoCon. Davidson is led on offense by Kyri Bye-Nagel, who has scored nine goals this season.
The Wildcats' defense is stingy and has allowed less than a goal a match. They rank second in fewest goals allowed and second in goals against average in the conference. Christy Carry is Davidson’s probable goalkeeper, and she ranks third in the SoCon in goals against average.
The Wildcats lead the all-time series with a 16-7 record, and they won last season’s match 2-0. Georgia Southern’s last victory in the series came in the 2006 Southern Conference Tournament. Heather Smith scored off of a free kick from Mallory Springfield in the 37th minute to give the Lady Eagles a 1-0 victory.
The match is set for Thursday at 4.pm. at Eagle Field.
