First Round Results of Eagle Golf at Arizona Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. ? Finishing the first round tied for fourth place, Drew Lethem paced the Georgia Southern golf team after Monday's first round of the PING-Arizona Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,793-yard Arizona National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz.
Golfers continued well into the day's scheduled second round, but competition was suspended due to darkness.
The Eagles finished the first round shooting a 7-over 291, good for 11th place among a field of 16. Tennessee led the pack carding a 12-under 272, two strokes better than East Tennessee State.
Lethem (Camdenton, Mo.) shot a first-round 4-under 67 to pace the team, sitting tied for fourth place. Leading all individuals at 6-under 65 is East Tennessee State's Simon Doherty.
Following Lethem after the first round and tied for 36th place were Spencer Fulford (Rocky Mount, N.C.) and Ryan Zabroske (Alpharetta, Ga.) with a 2-over 73.
Logan Blondell (Lakeland, Fla.) followed tied for 72nd place with a 7-over 78 after round one, while Jordan Johnstun (Evans, Ga.) shot an 8-over 79 tying for 78th place.
The 54-hole event will continue Tuesday (Jan. 29).
