Women's Soccer to Host Chattanooga, Sunday at 2 p.m.

STATESBORO, Ga. ? TheGeorgia Southern women’s soccer team will play host to Southern Conference contenderChattanooga, Sunday at Eagle Field. The Eagles’ second league game on the schedule is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
GeorgiaSouthern (2-6-0, 1-0-0) is riding the momentum of an exciting, 1-0 double-overtime victory atWinthrop, Friday night (Sep. 28). Chattanoogacomes to Statesboro for its own SoCon opener and seeks its first win with an 0-5-1 overall record. The Lady Mocs recently dropped a road contest at UNC Asheville by a 6-1 margin (Sep. 23).
Both teams have met on 12 occasions, with GeorgiaSouthern claiming a 9-3-0 series advantage. The last time the two teams met was in 2006 at Chattanooga. Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robins,Ga.) scored the game’s lone winner. The year prior,Georgia Southern fell 2-0 to the Lady Mocs in Statesboro.
Fourth-year head coach Ashley Hart’s Eagles are led on offense by Toussaint with six points on three goals. Audrey Brown (Fort Worth, Texas) follows with two goals and one assist, while teammate Heather Smith (Kingwood, Texas) tallies one goal and a team-best two helpers.
Chattanoogais coached by J.D. Kyzer in his seventh year at the helm. Leading the Lady Moc offense is Chelsea Hurst with a goal and an assist. She is followed by Arielle Lankford who also tallies one goal.
