STATESBORO, Ga. --- The Georgia Southern volleyball team returns home for the first time since Aug. 25 when they open Southern Conference play against UNC Greensboro.
The first 50 fans in the door will receive a Chick-fil-a sandwich. Match time is set for 2 p.m.
Livestats for the match will be available.
The Eagles will look to end a five-match losing streak that was extended Tuesday night in a close 3-2 loss at Charleston Southern. GSU rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits to force a game five, and was down 6-0 in the final game but closed to within one.
Saturday’s match will feature two of the conference’s top four players in terms of hitting percentage. UNCG’s Emily Londborg is third at .347 while GSU freshman Michelle Uzoh (San Antonio, Texas) is fourth at .325. Uzoh tallied a season-high 14 kills Tuesday against the Lady Bucs for a .423 percentage.
The Spartans began the 2007 season with a four-match winning streak, but proceeded to drop six in a row. Since then, they have leveled off and have split their last four outings.
