UNC Greensboro Garners Victory over Eagles

The Eagles fall to 2-8-1 overall and 1-2-1 in conference play. The Spartans (7-3-1) keep their unbeaten streak alive at 17 games while maintaining a clean conference slate (4-0-0).
As a result of tough defense on both sides of the field, it took almost the entire first half for the game's first goal to occur. Though
The Spartans eventually outshot the Eagles 13-3 in the first half before heading into the locker room.
“I thought we played well in the first half,” said head coach Ashley Hart. “We played hard and created some opportunities. I thought that we played organized.”
UNC Greensboro continued to pressure the front in the second half. Mary Kate Towne gave the Spartans a 2-0 advantage in the 54th minute. Mitrisin sparked the scoring opportunity after feeding the ball to teammate Jen Bronson who found Towne in the middle of the box for the quick goal.
UNCG added another insurance goal in the 74th minute off the foot of Kelly Attayek.

The Eagles will return back home to Statesboro for a SoCon match-up with the Furman Paladins, Thursday, Oct. 11 at 4 p.m.
