Women's Soccer to Battle Davidson, Thursday

STATESBORO, Ga. ? TheGeorgia Southern women’s soccer team will play its final regular season match, Thursday (Nov. 1) as it faces Davidson at 7 p.m. in a Southern Conference match-up at Davidson’s Alumni Stadium.
GeorgiaSouthern (3-11-2 overall, 2-5-2 SoCon) and Davidson (12-4-1, 7-1-1) have met 21 times with Davidson claiming a 14-7-0 lead. In the last meeting between the schools in 2006, the Eagles garnered a 1-0 victory in the first round of the SoCon tournament.
The Eagles are coming in with a 2-1 win against Wofford (Oct. 25) in their last home game in Statesboro. Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robins, Ga.) scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to seal the victory while Audrey Brown (Fort Worth,Tex.) put the Eagles up on the scoreboard first. The Wildcats recently defeatedChattanooga (Oct. 28) in a 2-1 decision inChattanooga,Tenn. The victory was the fourth straight SoCon win for the Wildcats.
Head Coach Ashley Hart’s Eagles are led by Ashley Toussaint with 12 points on five goals and two assists. She ranks second in the league in shots per game (3.13), is tied at No. 10 for goals per game (0.33), and ranks No. 10 in points per game (0.80). Classmate Audrey Brown follows with seven points including three goals and an assist. Keeper Lauren Santos (Berwyn,Ill.) remains fifth in the league with an average of 5.08 saves per game.
The Wildcats are coached by Greg Ashton and are led by sophomore Kyri Bye-Nagel, who among others in league ranks second in the league with 23 points, including 11 goals and one assist. She is followed by Lauren Conner with 12 points on five goals and two assists and ranks second in the league with four game-winners. Senior keeper Bevin English ranks seventh in with an average of 4.75 saves per game.
