Women's Soccer to Battle Charleston

STATESBORO, Ga. ? TheGeorgia Southern women’s soccer team will hit the road to face Southern Conference opponentCharleston, Thursday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. at Patriots Point.
GeorgiaSouthern (2-6-1, 1-0-1) is coming off a 2-2, double-overtime stalemate versusChattanooga(Sep. 30), which is its second consecutive double-overtime game in the last week. Charleston(4-5-1, 1-0-1) also recently tied at Appalachian State, 0-0 (Sep. 30).
The Eagles and Cougars have met on 14 occasions with GeorgiaSouthern claiming a 9-5-0 series record. GeorgiaSouthern defeated the Cougars in their last meeting (Oct. 5, 2006) in a 2-1, double-overtime victory in Statesboro. In that game, Jenni Boykin (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) scored both goals and was assisted by Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robins,Ga.). The year prior,Charleston beat the Eagles 4-1 at Patriots Point.
Toussaint leads the Eagles on offense with eight points on four winners. Audrey Brown (Fort Worth, Texas) follows with two goals and one assist, while defender Heather Smith (Kingwood, Texas) has one goal and a team-high two assists.
Charlestonis led on offense by Brittany Schneider with one goal and a team-high three assists. Kerry Broderick follows with a team-best two goals.
