STATESBORO, Ga. ? The Georgia Southern golf team is looking to continue the momentum of a last week's Mizuno Southbridge tournament win (Oct. 16) as it heads into this weekend's Landfall Tradition golf tournament in Wilmington, N.C. The 12-team field is set for three rounds beginning Friday, Oct. 26 and culminating in the final round Sunday, Oct. 28 played at the par-72, 7,130-yard Country Club of Landfall.
The field includes Iowa, Kansas, Ohio State, Purdue, Tulsa, Virginia, VCU, Virginia Tech, William & Mary, Xavier and host institution UNC Wilmington.
Virginia Tech, ranked 31st in this week's Golfweek poll is the tournament's highest-ranked team, while five others are also ranked in the top 100 in the nation: Ohio State (44), Virginia (77), Purdue (78), VCU (84) and Xavier (91).
Georgia Southern will begin first round competition on the 10th hole, Friday morning. Representing the Eagles is Drew Lethem (Camdenton, Mo.), Ryan LeFevre (Boca Raton, Fla.), Spencer Fulford (Rocky Mount, N.C.), Ryan Zabroske (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Logan Blondell (Lakeland, Fla.). Georgia Southern's tee time is slated for 8:17 a.m.
Rounds two and three are set for Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 18 and 19), 18 holes each, both beginning at 8:17 a.m.
