Women's Soccer to Clash with Appalachian State, Sunday

STATESBORO, Ga. ? TheGeorgia Southern women’s soccer team will continue its Southern Conference slate, Sunday (Oct. 21), as travels to Appalachian State. The match is set for 2 p.m. at ASU Soccer Stadium inBoone,N.C.
GeorgiaSouthern (2-10-2, 1-4-2) hits the road after tying 1-1 withWestern Carolina(Oct. 19). Appalachian State (8-3-3, 2-3-1) recently defeated Elon, 1-0 (Oct. 18).
Both teams have met on 19 occasions, withGeorgiaSouthern claiming a 12-6-1 all-time series record. The last time the two teams met was in 2006 on Eagle Field with the Mountaineers edging the Eagles 1-0. The year prior,GeorgiaSouthern fell 1-0 at Boone.
Fourth-year head coach Ashley Hart’s Eagles are led on offense by Ashley Toussaint (Warner Robins, Ga.) with nine points on four goals and an assist. Holli Finneren (Lake Orion,Mich.) follows with five points, including two goals and an assist.
Coached by Ben Popoola, the Mountaineers squad is led on offense by Casey Cleary with 17 points, including seven goals and three assists. She is followed by Caroline Lowe who has six points on two goals and two assists.
GeorgiaSouthern will return back to Eagle Field for its final home match of the regular season, Thursday, Oct. 25 at 4 p.m. The Mountaineers will next head toGreensboro,N.C.to face the Spartans, Oct. 25.
