A three-year football letterman from 1987 to 1989... A two-year starter at strong safety... Selected to three All-America teams as a senior. Earned Associated Press (second team), Football Gazette (third team) and Sports Network (second team) honors in 1989, helping Georgia Southern to the NCAA's first perfect 15-0 season and a NCAA Division I-AA National Championship... Recorded 58 tackles (45 solo), eight interceptions and eight pass breakups during his senior season... Credited with 108 interception return yards, including a single-game-best of 43 yards against Marshall in regular season finale... Six regular-season interceptions currently equals a Georgia Southern single-season record (1989)... Top season was 85-tackle, four interception effort as junior in 1988... Career totals include 150 tackles, 13 interceptions, 13 pass breakups, two sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery... Eagles won 36-of-43 (36-7/.837) games during his three-year career... Shined in post-season play, recording two interceptions – including one in the I-AA title game against Stephen F. Austin... Was responsible for 37 playoff tackles during GSC appearances in 1987, 1988 and 1989... Top tackle game was 13 against Eastern Kentucky in ‘88 I-AA semifinals at Paulson Stadium before following with 12 in national championship contest against Furman in Pocatello, Idaho... Other notable interceptions came against Florida A&M (two) and vs. Middle Tennessee State during "Hugo Bowl" in September, 1989.
