Trans America Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Year in 1983. Led Eagles to second consecutive TAAC golf title as a junior. Recorded seven top 10 finishes in 10 tournaments in 1983. Transferred from Alexander Cith Junior College in Alabama. Finished second at the 1982 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Championships. Earned junior college All-America status. Went through Professional Golf Association=s Qualifying Tournament in 1983 and became the youngest player on circuit in 1984. Born August 22, 1962 in Savannah, Georgia. Has picked up two Tour victories, winning the 1986 Bank of Boston Classic and the 1989 Hawaiian Open. Shot a 19-under- par 197 at the Waialae Country Club in Honolulu for one of his top tournaments ever. Won 1990 Deposit Guaranty Golf Classic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Recorded five top 10 finishes in 1990. Was fourth at the 1990 Walt Disney World/ Oldsmobile Classic, tied for seventh at the 1990 MCI Heritage Classic and the 1990 Southwestern Bell Colonial and tied for ninth at the 1990 Greater Milwaukee Open. Joined elite top 125 money winners list in 1985, a position that would not be relinquished. Had ninth-place standings at the 1991 Phoenix Open and the 1991 Players Championship. Won sudden death playoff to take top prize in the California Winter Tour Tournament at the Carlton Oaks Lodge and Country Club in Santee, California. Winner of three Georgia Open championships, once earning the title as an amateur. A 2012 inductee to the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame.
