Ryan Gilbert joined the Georgia Southern Athletics Department in 2018 as an academic advisor for Student-Athlete Services. He was promoted to assistant director in 2021, associate director in 2022 and to Associate AD for Student-Athlete Services in 2023. Gilbert works as the Director of Football Academics.
Prior to arriving in Statesboro, Gilbert was a graduate assistant at the University of Missouri in their Mizzou Made: Academics Program where he worked with women’s soccer, gymnastics, and track & field teams. He also worked with men’s basketball and the tutoring/mentoring program during his time there.
Gilbert is originally from the Portland, Maine, area and received his Bachelor of Science in sport management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in the Isenberg School of Management. He received his Masters of Education from the University of Missouri in educational and school counseling and psychology with an emphasis in positive coaching. Ryan is also a proud alumni of Georgia Southern, receiving his MBA from Georgia Southern in 2022.
Gilbert lives in Statesboro with his wife, Morgan, and two sons, Wyatt and Caden.
