Yvette Crick joined the Student-Athlete Services staff in February of 2018 as a Learning Specialist providing essential learning strategies and individualized academic support for under prepared student-athletes with a focus on mentorship, development of study skills and building learning habits that will enhance student success. Crick's strength in building relationships and developing connections with student-athletes on a personal level allows for open discussions about not only their learning styles, but also their family backgrounds that have impacted their educational decisions. Crick currently works with at-risk football student athletes and other Olympic sports athletes in promoting student accountability alongside our academic support staff and coaching staff members. She also serves as the Athletic Academic Advisor for the Women’s Golf program.
Crick grew up in Bulloch County and attended the University of Georgia. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Education and a Masters in Agriculture Leadership. Crick taught in the Bulloch County Public School System for 12 years as an Agriculture Instructor at Southeast Bulloch High School and two years at Portal Middle High School as a Science Teacher/Agriculture Adjunct Instructor. Additionally, Crick served in a leadership role with the Georgia Department of Education/Agriculture Education for four years as a teacher mentor and horticulture specialist where she was the liaison between special interest groups to promote growth and build membership of the Georgia Agriculture Education Program and the National FFA Organization.
Crick was the 2009 Southeast Bulloch Teacher of the Year and 2010 Bulloch County School System Teacher of the Year. She was also recognized as the 2020 Georgia Southern Athletics Staff Member of the Year.
Crick enjoys spending time with her children, SydneyClaire, Jackson and Hudson as well as vintage shopping and traveling.
