Biography
SENIOR (2016-17): Named first-team All-SoCon after placing fourth at the conference meet in the air rifle … Helped lead the Eagles to the SoCon Air Rifle title.
JUNIOR (2015-16): Averaged 531.1 points in small bore and 567.8 points in air rifle … Competed in all of the team’s matches … Posted an air rifle mark of 550 or better in every match … Placed 10th in aggregate score with 1,106 points at SEARC 7. Also ranked 10th on small bore at 540 points … Finished eighth in aggregate (1,120) at North Georgia. Ranked sixth on the air rifle (575) and eighth on small bore (545) with a personal record … Delivered her highest score of the season on the air rifle with a 577 at the NCAA Qualifier to place ninth … Shot a 568 in air rifle at the SEARC Championships.
FRESHMAN (2013-14): Member of the inaugural Georgia Southern women's rifle team... Competed in all 10 of team's matches... Averaged an air rifle score of 549.1... Shot a season high air rifle mark of 571 at the SEARC Championship and combined with Kathryn Youngblood to post GSU's first two air rifle marks of 570 or better in the same meet... Posted air rifle marks of 550 or better in five meets... Opened career with an air rifle mark of 516 against Wofford... Shot a 568 to help the Eagles' to their first match win in school history, a 2234-2232 victory over Wofford in Charleston, S.C.
PREP: Hails from Hephzibah, Ga., which lies south of Augusta, Ga., and attended Augusta Christian Senior High School in Martinez, Ga... Participated in four sports in high school (basketball, tennis, track and field and cross country)... Had no competitive shooting experience before joining the Georgia Southern rifle team... Daughter of Emily Murrell and John Lewis... Has a brother, Austin, who also attends GS.
