JUNIOR (2011-2012): Did not compete during the 2012 Spring season.

AT BALL STATE: Team compiled a record of 16-10 his freshman year and 15-15 his sophomore year... Went 4-2 in singles and 4-2 in doubles his sophomore year...Only competed during Fall season his junior year...Played for Head Coach Bill Richards.

PREP: Played for George Walton Comprehensive High School... Went undefeated at #1 doubles in his sophomore and senior years...Two-year letter winner.

PERSONAL: Full name is Owen Alexander Doherty... Born on July 8, 1991, in New York, NY... Son of Dennis and Carol Doherty... Has two younger brothers, Patrick and Michael... Most admires his mother and father... His family has had the biggest influence on his life because "I wouldn't be where I am without them"...  Enjoys reading, watching basketball, and listening to music... Most treasured possession is his iPod... Would like to attend Lollapalooza... Would like the talent to play basketball... Favorites: meal - breaded garlic butter shrimp; movie - Boondock Saints; athlete - Dwight Howard; songs in iPod - "Omaha Stylee" by 311, "10 a.m. Automatic" by The Black Keys, and "Armistice" by Mutemath; Georgia Southern tradition - Freedom's Flight... Majoring in Political Science with a minor in Spanish.
