Drew Gaither serves as the assistant linebackers coach, returning to Georgia Southern after completing two years as the associate head coach and defensive coordinator at the University of the South.
In his first season the Tigers finished 14th nationally in sacks, blocked four kicks and scored a pair of defensive touchdowns. Sewanee collected 63 tackles for loss and finished the year with 17 turnovers gained. The squad finished with three victories, the program's most since 2018, ended a 23-game conference losing streak and won a league road game for the first time in five seasons. Keegan Glaze earned First Team All-SAA honors and Quinn Johnson was a Second Team selection.
He served as an assistant coach at Georgia Southern in 2021 and 2022, splitting time between working with the outside and inside linebackers. In addition, he was a part of the special teams and recruiting.
He also served as a student assistant at Western Carolina during the 2018 and 2019 seasons, working with multiple facets of the program, including assisting the Defensive and Special Teams Coordinators and the Tight Ends coach.
He earned a bachelor's in Psychology with a Sports Management minor from Western Carolina and a master's of Kinesiology: Coaching Education from Georgia Southern.
