Anthony Beck II

Former Georgia Southern all-conference punter Anthony Beck II serves as the assistant special teams coach/specialists for the Eagle football team, a role he was promoted to for the 2025 season.

Beck II worked with the Eagles in 2024 as a volunteer coach, working with the special teams and specialists. He also joined the Learfield radio crew as a guest in 2023 and was the full-time radio/sideline reporter in 2024.

As a player, Beck II earned the Georgia Southern Jayson Foster Freshman of the Year in 2019. He was named second-team All-Sun Belt in 2021 and third team in 2020. He averaged a Southern bowl record 48.8 yards per punt on nine kicks against Liberty in the 2019 Cure Bowl, earning a spot on ESPN.com’s All-Bowl Team for his performance. He holds the Georgia Southern record for career punting average (43.3), punts of 50 yards or longer in a season (17) and punts of 50 yards or longer in a career (49).

Upon finishing his collegiate career, he earned an invitational to the Minnesota Vikings Rookie Mini Camp. 

Beck II also had the opportunity to have been coached/mentored by the late Patrick “Doc” Spurgeon in his time at Georgia Southern.

Born in Savannah, raised in Guyton, Georgia and graduated from South Effingham High School in 2018. He graduated from Georgia Southern in Decemeber of 2021 with a degree in business administration and a second degree in marketing December of 2022.

He is engaged to Gracie Hartzog, who is also a graduate of Georgia Southern, and is a teacher at Metter Elementary School.
