Tyler Gallo was hired in August 2023 as an athletics communications coordinator and serves as the primary contact for men's basketball, volleyball and women's golf.
Gallo came to Statesboro after spending a year at the University of Delaware as a postgraduate intern in the communications & creative services department.
While at Delaware, Gallo was the primary contact for women's cross country, baseball and men's & women's golf. He was also the secondary contact for men's basketball. With the baseball team, Gallo assisted in a 30% increase in followers across Instagram and Twitter as the team made its first appearance in the CAA Tournament since 2018.
He attended Robert Morris University, graduating in May 2022 with a bachelor's degree in sports communication.
While at Robert Morris, Gallo served as editor and chief photographer for Colonial Sports Network, Robert Morris' award-winning student-run sports news website. During this time, he was in charge of all content for the website, including assigning writers and photographers to athletic events and working closely with the athletic communications department.
During the first semester of his senior year, Gallo served as a staff writer intern with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He also had an internship in the summer of 2021 with the Bethesda Big Train, a college summer baseball program, where he served as one of the broadcasters for the team.
Outside of his education and experience, Gallo was a four-year member of Robert Morris' club ice hockey program.
Gallo grew up in Hockessin, Delaware. He is the son of Al and Jen Gallo, and has a younger sister, Emily.
