WILMINGTON, N.C. — Georgia Southern Men's Soccer team(1-1-0) fell to the University of North Carolina Wilmington (1-0-0) with a final score of 2-0 on Sunday at UNCW Soccer Stadium. The Eagles managed six total shots, with two on goal, but could not find the back of the net.

In the first half, the Eagles delivered a strong defensive performance. Despite multiple attempts, including a shot by Eagles Finn Steele saved by UNCW's Alex Kron, the Eagles were unable to convert opportunities into goals. The period concluded in a scoreless draw, with Georgia Southern maintaining a solid defensive stance throughout.

The second half saw the Eagles with multiple attempts to equalize, including a notable shot by Corfitzen at the 59th minute mark. Charlie Votel and Owen Barker also contributed with shots, but were unable to find the net.

UNCW capitalized on their opportunities, scoring twice. Osei Gyamfi broke the deadlock in the 71st minute, and Ryan Lee extended the lead with assistance from Benjamin Gooding and Kieran Radke in the 76th.

Next up, the Eagles will travel south to face Jacksonville University on Friday, Aug. 28. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Southern Oak Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.
