Positives on Both Sides of the Ball Highlight First Scrimmage

Team will hodl second scrimmage next Saturday
STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern football squad held its first scrimmage of preseason camp Saturday night under the lights of Allen E. Paulson. The offense scored five touchdowns and the defense recorded three turnovers as both sides saw positive results.
Quarterbacks Max Johnson, Turner Helton, Weston Bryan and Harrison Faulkner Jr. combined to throw four touchdowns and for over 350 yards while Ty Cummings contributed a touchdown on the ground. Andre Greene Jr., King Phillips, Zay Hilliard and Antavious Murphy all had a score with Greene totaling nearly 100 yards receiving.
Defensively, AJ Brown Sr. and Phillip Gladney both had an interception.
Donal Dempsey connected on all five field goals and Tripp Bryant hit 3-of-4 field goals.
The team will return to the field on Monday and will hold its final open scrimmage of the preseason next Saturday.
