Pierre Mouesca Named Sun Belt Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Junior went 2-0 in singles and doubles action to earn his second career weekly Sun Belt honor
STATESBORO - Georgia Southern junior Pierre Mouesca has been named the Sun Belt Men's Tennis Player of the Week, announced today by league officials.
Mouesca went a perfect 2-0 in singles and doubles play as the Eagles defeated Jacksonville State and Stetson in weekend matches. The Biarritz, France, native teamed with Matthew Mitchell for doubles wins that helped Georgia Southern clinch the doubles point in both matches over the weekend.
In singles play, Mouesca picked up a 6-3, 6-2 win over Charlie Penman of Jacksonville State in Friday's 4-3 win over the Gamecocks. He then delivered a 6-4, 7-5 win over Lucas Olivier on Sunday in the Eagles' 6-1 victory over Stetson. Both wins came at the No. 4 singles spot, where Mouesca is an unbeaten 3-0 this Spring season.
This is the second Player of the Week award for the Eagles this Spring - Aaron James Williams earned the league's weekly honor back on January 22. For Mouesca, it is his second weekly award as he was previously named the Sun Belt Player of the Week as a freshman on March 8, 2023.
Mouesca and the Eagles are next in action on Friday, February 21, taking on in-state rival Kennesaw State in a 2 p.m. match in Kennesaw, Ga.
