The next year, Georgia Southern went to Ballard Stadium and beat the fourth-seeded Monarchs 49-35 in the FCS Quarterfinals. Since joining the Sun Belt, ODU has won two of the three games, including each of the past two games.
  • The Eagles are 26-7 all-time against teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia, but have lost the last two games (2024 ODU, 2025 JMU).
  • Georgia Southern has a 221-52 record at Allen E. Paulson Stadium with the fourth-best winning percentage out of all currently used FBS stadiums. The Eagles are 27-7 all-time at Paulson Stadium when playing in front of 21,000 or more fans, including 3-0 this season.

Countdown to Kickoff
10: Four of the five Eagle offensive linemen have started all 10 games this season.
9: As a head coach, Clay Helton is 57-9 when leading at halftime.
8: With Eijah Fears's blocked field goal last week, Georgia Southern has now blocked at least one kick in eight consecutive seasons.
7: The Eagles have lost just seven times in 33 previous contests against teams from the Commonwealth of Virginia, but have dropped their past two such games.
6: Georgia Southern and ODU will be meeting for the sixth time on Saturday with the Eagles leading the series 3-2.
5: Running back OJ Arnold has completed five career passes in his four years. All five have gone for touchdowns, including two this season.
4: The Eagles have won all four games this season at home when playing in front of 21,000 fans or more.
3: Camden Brown tied the school record with three touchdown catches last week against Coastal Carolina. The record was set by Corey Joyner in a 1998 I-AA Playoff game against Western Illinois. He is second in the nation in touchdown catches with 12, one behind UConn's Skyler Bell.
2: Since joining the Sun Belt, ODU has won two of the three games in the series, including each of the past two.
1: Georgia Southern needs one win in its last two games to become bowl eligible for the fourth year in a row. It would be the first time in program history that has happened.
