
Team Air Rifle Record Falls As Eagles Shine in Colorado

Butler, Pohlmann, Watts all shoot 599s
NCAA SCORECARD
COLORADO SPRINGS - The second-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team broke the school record in the team air rifle and nearly broke the national record in shooting a 4,738 Sunday at the USA Olympic Training Center to down #3 Alaska, #15 Air Force and Schreiner. Seventh-ranked TCU bested the Eagles by three points to hand the Eagles their second loss of the season.
In smallbore, Emme Walrath shot a 591 to place second and lead the way. Bremen Butler shot a 587 to place seventh and Tori Watts also finished in the top 10 with a 586, placing ninth.
In air rifle, the Eagles posted a 2,393 as Butler, Watts and Emma Pohlmann all shot 599s and Walrath contributed a 596 to help break the school record by two shots. Based on center shots, Butler took first, Pohlmann took third and Watts took fourth. Walrath finished seventh with a 596 to round out the record-breaking score.
Walrath led the squad with a 1,187 to place second in the aggregate, while Butler (1,186) took third and Watts (1,185) took fourth.

We're pretty excited for the air gun score today. That's huge for our team. It'll be a good to have a week off and then reset for our final two matches of the semester. Hail Southern."
