OXFORD, Miss. - Georgia Southern men's tennis faced its second SEC foe in a week on Sunday, falling at Ole Miss by a 6-1 score in Oxford, Miss.

The Rebels remained unbeaten on the young season, improving to 5-0, while Georgia Southern moves to 3-3. The Eagles will be next in action on Sunday, February 9, hosting USF in a 1 p.m. contest at the Wallis Tennis Center in Statesboro.

Georgia Southern notched the doubles point against the Rebels as all three doubles matches went to tiebreakers. The No. 54-ranked duo of Pol del Castillo and Dimitris Paliouras downed Kai Milburn and Marcel Kamrowski, 7-6 (6), at No. 1 doubles, while Laurent Julia Calac and Aaron James Williams also defeated Isac Stromberg and Noah Schlagenhauf by a 7-6 (6) score at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, Ole Miss won the first sets in five of six singles matches, then clinched the victory with straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.

"We put this weekend on the schedule to get pushed to our limits," Georgia Southern head men's tennis coach Andrew Goodwin said. "We're going to keep growing tougher and more resilient as a team. I'm proud of what we are consistently putting on the line as a team, and we're fired up to open our home schedule against South Florida in two weeks."
