Moore and Smith earn individual honors
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Imani Moore and Alanna Smith were announced on Monday as All-Academic Athletes by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Eagles were also named an All-Academic Team after combining for a 3.40 grade point average in the 2023-24 season.
Moore was named third-team All-Sun Belt in both indoor and outdoor track this season after finishing third at both the indoor and outdoor championships. Moore set second-best school marks in both the triple jump (12.60m, SBC) and long jump (6.19m, East Coast Relays) during the outdoor season. The Fayetteville, Ga., native carries a 4.0 in interior design.
Moore and Smith were two of three members of the squad to earn a NCAA Regional berth, marking their first appearance at the event.
To be named All-Academic student-athletes must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.25, finish the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, and/or participate in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championship.
To be eligible as a team, squads must contain a 3.0 GPA or higher.
