Georgia Southern Launches Vintage-Inspired Merchandise Collection

True Blue Unlocked gives fans a taste of the past while looking to the future

STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department is going back in time. With its new True Blue Unlocked program, the department has announced the launch of a vintage-inspired merchandise collection that pays homage to Georgia Southern's Storied history.

The True Blue Unlocked program will highlight historical trademarks and traditions through fashion-forward apparel and non-apparel products. To meet Eagle Nation's requests, Georgia Southern will break into the vault and bring back a curated collection of vintage logos for a limited time, unlocking the past to give fans a chance to purchase unique items with old-school logos.

"Fans and retailers have been asking for a return of our classic logos for years. This project has been on our radar for a while, but we wanted to be strategic about it," said Amy Hughes, Director of Athlete Brand Management and University Licensing. "True Blue Unlocked lets us celebrate our heritage with various vintage marks, giving them a fresh and modern feel. This program keeps our current logos firmly in place while offering something truly unique for everyone."

The first logo will be unveiled on April 18, and merchandise will be available to purchase immediately at Southern Exchange Company and Georgia Southern's University Store for fans to wear at Southern Spring Weekend, which includes the Spring Game, our softball series and GATAJAM.

"Georgia Southern Athletics has a storied past and so many rich traditions," said Chris Davis, Chief Operating Officer of Athletics. "Being able to unlock logos that remind us of iconic moments is a way to celebrate our history while continuing to build for the future and is also an exciting way to show True Blue spirit. This logo will be the first of numerous to drop, and all of Eagle Nation should keep their eyes open as more logos will be released starting this fall."
