STATESBORO -
The fifth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team continued its winning ways Saturday at the Shooting Sports Education Center, downing #6 Ole Miss and #20 UAB to help the team move to 13-1 on the season.

In air rifle, Pohlmann and Gonzalez Mazo led the way with a pair of 592s to tied for third. Goldfaden posted a 591 to tie for fifth while Burrow and Visconti both posted 589s to tie for seventh. Weatherford shot a 583 and Gamez posted a 567. As a team, the Eagles posted a 4,710.

The Eagles were led in aggregate by Pohlmann's 1,182 to take the gold. Burrow (1,177; 4th), Goldfaden (1,176; 5th), Gonzalez Mazo (1,175; 6th) and Visconti (1,170; 8th) all placed in the top 10 of aggregate.

Words From Coach Soren Butler:
"We're leaving today with some good notes and some things to work on. We've placed an emphasis on slings this semester and we performed well in those. Others have been focused on standing and performed well there. I think we're battling some expectations in air rifle that are causing us to perform a little scared. I think having these kinds of moments is really important for our development as we look to learn how to shooting high level scores consistently."
