STATESBORO - This month we are asking each member of our Georgia Southern athletic training staff to participate in a Q&A session as part of Athletic Trainer Appreciation Month. We will learn more about athletic training and more about the experiences of our athletic trainers and all the work they do for us behind the scenes!
The next trainer that we are highlighting is
Brandy Clouse, our head athletic trainer. Brandy also works as the Deputy Athletics Director of Internal Affairs and the Senior Women Administrator.
What is something about athletic training people often don't know?
"Athletic trainers are considered allied healthcare professionals, and our job has such a wide range of responsibilities that makes us an essential part of a student-athlete's well-being within sporting communities."
What is your favorite part about being an athletic trainer?
"Being able to help student-athletes through their daily needs whether that is their mental health, a cold, a bad day, or a minor/major injury. When you are with someone day in and day out you are able to build a special bond with them that hopefully lasts a lifetime. Those relationships become priceless."
What is a treatment you like but don't get us as often/your favorite treatment?
"I do not have a particular favorite; it's about what's the best course of treatment for the student-athlete. I love doing rehab."
What is your favorite thing about working with your sport(s)?
"There is not one thing in particular that stands out—I love what I do and the people that I come across on a daily basis. What we do as athletic trainers is important, but who we impact creates those lasting relationships."
