Rifle Squad Puts Up Big Numbers Against #2 West Virginia

Walrath sets school aggregate record

The fifth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle team posted a 4,727, its third-highest aggregate score in program history as it took second-ranked West Virginia to the wire Sunday at the Shooting Sports Education Center.

In smallbore, freshman Emme Walrath tied the school record with a 592 to lead the way and take second place. She was followed by Ella Goldfaden shot a career-high standing en route to a 587 to tie for fifth. Emma Pohlmann (585) and Hailey Singleton (career-high 580) also placed in the top 10. The Eagles shot a 2,343, the fifth-best team score in SSEC history.

Trailing by six after smallbore, the Eagles rallied in air rifle to post a 2,384, the second-highest score in program history. Walrath led the way with a 598 to take second. She was followed by Goldfaden (597; 3rd), Butler (595; 6th) and Gonzalez Mazo (595; 7th). Watts shot a 594, Pohlmann posted a 590 and Singleton registered a 588. The 2,384 was tied for the highest team score in SSEC history.

The Eagles were led in aggregate by Walrath, who set a school record with a 1,190 to take the silver. Also placing in the top 10 were Goldfaden (1,184; T-3rd), Pohlmann (1,175; 9th) and Butler (1,174 (10th). Singleton improved her score by 13 points from Saturday's effort to mark the biggest difference on the day.
