STATESBORO - The fifth-ranked Georgia Southern rifle squad returns to action this weekend as it heads to Lincoln, Nebraska, for to take on the #7 Cornhuskers on Saturday at the Nebraska Rifle Range. The first of two relays at the 10-point range will begin at 9 a.m. (ET).
Georgia Southern is 10-1 this season and currently sits at #5 in the country with its 4,728.667 three-score (different locations) average, just one point behind #4 and defending national champion Alaska Fairbanks. The top eight teams after NCAA Qualifier weekend will compete in the NCAA Championships in March.
Nebraska (4-6) is ranked seventh with a 4,718.000 three-score average but is coming off a 4,696 last weekend. Georgia Southern is 0-1 all-time against the Huskers, falling 4,677-4,628 at home last season.
