STATESBORO - The Georgia Southern Athletics Department, in conjunction with the Sun Belt Conference and league television partners, announced Wednesday game times for the opening three weeks of the 2023 college football season.

The Eagles open the season at home on Saturday, Sept. 2 and will kick off against The Citadel at 6 p.m. on ESPN+, following a polling of Eagle Nation for its desired start time on Labor Day Weekend. On Saturday, Sept. 9, the Eagles will host UAB at 6 p.m., also on ESPN+

The Big Ten Conference announced that the Eagles will take on Wisconsin on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Madison, Wisconsin, at noon (ET)/11 a.m. (local time) and the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

Additionally, it was confirmed that Georgia Southern's Thursday night game against Georgia State on Oct. 26 will kick at 7:30 p.m., and will be shown nationally on ESPN2.

The remainder of the game times will be announced at a later date.
