STATESBORO - Georgia Southern sophomore student-athlete
Emma Pohlmann has been honored as the SoCon Smallbore and Air Rifle Athlete of the Month for her performances in November, as announced Tuesday by the conference.
Pohlmann played a big part in Georgia Southern's historic month of November as the Eagles knocked off No. 3 Ole Miss and No. 9 Memphis to vault to the top 5 in the national
polls. She led the team in the month of November with a 587.333 average in smallbore over three events. Her 588 in smallbore against Wofford in a SoCon match was a career high and was one point off the school record.
She also led the team in the month of November with a 596.333 average in air rifle over three events. Her 598 in air rifle against Wofford in a SoCon match was a career high and was one point off the school record.
The Nentershausen, Germany, native averaged a 1183.667 aggregate for the month with a career high of 1,186 against Wofford, which tied the school record.
The fifth-ranked Eagles return to action in January.
