Men’s Golf Tied for Third at Fighting Irish Classic

Three Eagles are in the top-12.
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Ben Carr shot a 66 in the second round, and Mason Williams recorded a 67 in the first to lead the Georgia Southern men's golf team into a tie for third place after two rounds of the Fighting Irish Classic Sunday at Warren Golf Club.
Carr posted a bogey-free second round and made birdies at 4 and 5 on the front and 16 and 17 on the back. Williams' first round was keyed by four straight birdies on holes 3-6 as he shot 3-under on the front. Hogan Ingram shot 69-68 and is tied for 12th with Williams, and Carr is tied for fifth.
Brantley Baker and Wilson Andress both shot 71 in the first round, and Baker posted a 71 in the second round for the fourth counting score. Ingram shot 3-under on the front in the afternoon and was 2-under on his first nine holes of the day with birdies on 11 and 14.
Florida (-17) leads the loaded field, and North Carolina (-15) shot 14-under in the second round to jump into second place. The Eagles (-8) are tied with LSU for third, a stroke ahead of host Notre Dame (-7) and two ahead of Kansas (-6) and Indiana (-6), which are tied for sixth.
The Eagles are leading the tournament in par-3 scoring (-2) and rank second in par-5 scoring (-11).
