Powers recorded a kill for GS, and the Eagles fought off one set point before Juliana Lentz put down a kill for FGCU and an Eagle hitting error ended the set.
Key stats
FGCU hit .217 in the match and held the Eagles to .082.
Quotables from Coach Chad Willis
"We're disappointed in the result. We built good leads in the first two sets and put ourselves in situations to win. I thought we were really, really solid on the defensive side of the ball but couldn't manufacture enough offense. The big takeaway today and yesterday is mainly that we showed in moments a level we're capable of competing at that we can build off as we get closer to the start of conference play. We're looking forward to getting back home in Hanner next weekend."
