Wild Wing Cafe of Statesboro To Host “Hail Southern Live” This Season

Show debuts Monday of game week

STATESBORO – Wild Wing Cafe of Statesboro will be the new host site for "Hail Southern Live," the weekly radio show for Georgia Southern Athletics, as announced Monday by Georgia Southern Sports Properties (GSSP). Additionally, the show will be on Mondays from 7 to 8 p.m. throughout the 2022 Eagle football season and will feature football head coach Clay Helton, players and other special guests throughout the season.

Danny Reed, the Voice of the Eagles, will once again serve as the main on-air host for Hail Southern Live. The season's first show will be Monday, Aug. 29 from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by Eagle Trivia until 9 p.m. with special prizes and GS-branded promotional items.

"Wild Wing Cafe is the perfect place for this event," said Terry Harvin, General Manager for GSSP. "The restaurant is owned and operated by Georgia Southern alumni who are also great partners with the University. Also, fans love their food, atmosphere and location. They built a stage for us and there is plenty of room inside for fans to be comfortable and participate. The addition of Eagle Trivia will create a lot of fan interaction as well."

A division of Learfield, GSSP is the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Georgia Southern Athletics. GSSP also manages the radio game broadcasts on the Georgia Southern Sports Network.

"We're all very excited about Coach Helton and the coaches from other Georgia Southern teams coming here on a regular basis," remarked Rick Howard, the owner-partner for Wild Wing Cafe in Statesboro, Macon, Warner Robins and Alpharetta. "Being a GS grad myself, it's extra special for me to be involved like this. I love our partnership with the school and absolutely love Eagle Nation. That's why we're here! Hail Southern!"

Located off Highway 67 on the corner of Fair Road and Aspen Heights Drive, Wild Wing Cafe originally opened in Statesboro in 2014. Howard and his group recently took over ownership in March of this year.
